Did you know that Chinese Especially Mandarin in the second most used language on the internet? According to this link it is anyway. And I'm inclined to think so too. And Chinese is forecasted to exceed English in the coming years. So in time if we're going to read many of the sites on the web we're going to have to learn Chinese.

My thought is to get a head start and to gain a valuable skill in the meantime. I'm going to learn how to read, write, and speak Chinese. I started this blog mainly to help me stay on track in my goals. To start with I'm going to speak first then reading and writing. I think it will be easier to speak it first.
My method is Michel Thomas Beginners Chinese since I already have a copy of that. When the time comes I will decide what method to use for the reading and writing. In the beginners Course there are ten CD's. I will write a blog post about the experence and my thoughts after each CD. The advanced course will follow thereafter.
